Athletics- High School/Middle School

Davidson County Schools has an excellent athletic program. Students in grades 7-12 may participate in the interscholastic athletic program (students at South Davidson may begin athletic participation in the sixth grade). Athletics is a part of the total education and growth experience for student-athletes. It is our hope that student-athletes become responsible citizens and demonstrate a spirit of sportsmanship and teamwork as effective participants in the arena of society.  Davidson County Schools currently offers 5 middle school sports and 20 high school sports.

The goal of the system athletic director is to provide leadership, supervision, and coordination for all middle and high school athletic programs to provide students worthwhile learning experiences. The system athletic director serves as liaison between athletic interests of schools, booster clubs, communities,  the Superintendent’s office, and the Davidson County School Board.
